POSTER SUBMISSIONS

Display Your Poster At The Nation’s Largest Event Dedicated To Skin Of Color Focused Dermatology

Poster presentations convey innovative, clinically relevant information that enhances the professional skills of dermatology healthcare professionals treating patients with skin of color. The Skin of Color Update poster session provides presenting authors a forum in which they can showcase their work and interact with conference attendees. You are invited to submit poster abstracts for all relevant topics related to skin of color focused dermatology.

You are encouraged to submit abstracts on current and emerging issues in the dermatologic treatment of skin of color related, but not limited to:

  • Pediatric Dermatology
  • Skin Cancer
  • Acne and Rosacea
  • Scalp and Hair Disorders
  • Unusual cases of all kinds

SOC Update accepts submissions from:

  • Practicing Dermatologists
  • Researchers

REVIEW PROCESS

Submitting parties receive automatic notification that the poster submission has been received. However, due to the high volume of submissions, additional acknowledgement may not be sent unless the poster is accepted by the review committee.

Abstract submissions are reviewed by a committee comprised of healthcare professionals serving on the Skin of Color Update and Journal of Drugs in Dermatology advisory boards. Conference managers also review all abstracts. Content is evaluated based on the quality and relevance of topic, educational value, timeliness, and clearly identified objectives. SOC Update reserves the right to make final decisions regarding acceptance of abstracts for poster presentation sessions.

CONFERENCE FEES

In order to present your poster at the meeting, you will be required to register for Skin of Color Update.

Dermatology resident physicians, fellows, practicing dermatologists, pharmaceutical companies, researchers, analysts, technology providers and consultants whose posters are accepted for presenting are given a reduced registration fee of 50%.
*Once your poster has been accepted, you will be given information on how to register for SOC Update as a Poster Presenter.

POSTER PRESENTATION

Posters must meet the following guidelines to be considered:

  • Poster should be in landscape orientation and no larger than 48″ wide x 36″ high. 
  • Posters may include graphs, tables, and charts.
  • If your poster exceeds this size, due to space, it will not be displayed.
  • Poster font should be in an easily read size from a distance of up to 6 feet.
  • Materials will be provided by the SOC Update Organizers to mount your poster.
  • Please ensure that your poster is displayed on the correct poster board. Do not write or paint on the poster boards.

If poster is selected, authors agree to:

  • Present information in an objective manner without bias to a particular company, program, or product.
  • Information in the abstract submission may be reproduced for use in conference materials including the electronic presentations (PDF only) and printed documentation.

FAQs

What is the poster deadline?
Poster submission deadline: August 10, 2019

There is only room in the form for 2 authors, can I submit an abstract with more authors than that?
We do not have a limit on the number of authors a poster can have. If you have more than 2 authors you can add their info in either the section for author biographies or additional information.

How big should my poster be?
Poster should be in landscape orientation and no larger than 4 feet wide x 3.5 feet high. Posters may include graphs, tables, and charts.

Does my poster need to be relevant to skin of color focused dermatology?
Yes! Following the core concepts of the meeting, we only accept submissions that pertain to skin of color focused dermatology.

How many posters can I display?
You can submit as many posters as you would like but you may display up to 3 posters.

When will I be notified if my poster is accepted?
Poster acceptances will be sent via email at the beginning of August. If you do not receive a response please email [email protected]

Do I need to register for the conference?
Yes — You must have one representative registered for the conference in order to present your poster. Once your poster is accepted you’ll receive a discount code for 50% off your SOC Update registration.

Do you accept repeat/encore posters?
Yes! These posters should represent findings that have been presented at other meetings but still contain information of interest to clinicians.

Am I responsible for printing and hanging my posters?
Poster presenters must print their own posters and bring the posters to the conference. Your poster will be on display throughout the entire conference.

What is the review process?

Can my poster include QR Codes?
QR codes with a maximum size of 1″ by 1″ are permitted on posters. Scanning of a QR code only by participants using smart phones or other mobile devices is permissible.
